Steak & Beans
This is such a rich and well-rounded dish, is nearly incredible that it requires very little ingredients, of which most are pantry staples.
This recipe yields 4 portions.
Ingredients:
500 gr. white beans (canned or fresh-if fresh these need to be soaked overnight in water, and boiled until cooked)
3 Rosemary Sprigs
200 gr. Oyster Mushrooms (chopped)
1 yellow onion (diced)
3 garlic cloves (2 mashed, and 1 whole)
4 (110 gr.) Ribeye Steaks
2 tablespoons of butter
2 tablespoon of olive oil
1 tablespoon of tomato paste
Salt & Black Pepper to taste
Directions:
Sauté the the onions, mashed garlic, 2 sprigs rosemary, mushrooms in 1 tablespoon butter and olive oil. Once the mushrooms are cooked add the tomato paste, cook for a 5 mounts, and then add the beans, and 1/2 cup of water, and simmer for 15 minutes.
Season the steaks with salt and pepper, and the olive oil. In another pan, cook them to the desired temperature, add the butter, the garlic clove and 1 rosemary sprig at the end and baste the steaks with it.
Tips:
Steamed white rice can be added as a side as well green vegetable.
