Dalgona Coffee
During the pandemic, I was going through a house renovation, and moving, thus quite stressful. For many weeks, even month I did not have a proper cup of coffee (which I'm addicted to). Then along came this ice coffee trend, and although I always try to resist falling into any trends, specially food trends, this one was once that came in-handy, during those days where all was chaos. Every now and then I make it, specially when summer temperatures get really high.
This recipe makes 2 big glasses.
Ingredients:
2 tablespoons of granulated sugar
2 tablespoons of instant coffee
2 tablespoons of cold water
Ice, for serving
Milk, for serving
Directions:
In a medium bowl, combine sugar, coffee, and water. Using a hand mixer or a whisk, vigorously whisk until mixture turns silky smooth and shiny, then continue whisking until it thickens and holds its lofty, foamy shape. This will take 8 to 12 minutes to get to optimal fluffiness.
Fill a glass most of the way full with ice and milk, then dollop and swirl the whipped coffee mixture on top, mixing before drinking, if desired.
Tips:
This is great to pair with some chocolate cookies or a fudge-y chocolate cake.
Enjoy!
